Lake Resort and Guide Outfitters offers lakefront rental
cabins, four seasons recreation, fishing and guided hunting at
beautiful Canim Lake in the Cariboo region of British Columbia,
Canada.
In
the heart of British Columbia, located between the Rocky Mountains
to the east and the Coast Mountains to the west, lies the Cariboo
Country. Gigantic glaciers traveling through this area formed
the Cariboo region thousands of years ago. From endless forests
and vast meadows to deserts; the variety of landscapes found here
are enormous and the views are breathtaking.
Canim
Lake Resort and Guide Outfitters are located on
Canim Lake in BC's South Cariboo, east
of the community of 100 Mile House
on the south-westerly end of Wells Grey Park. This large, 24-mile
long lake is surrounded by mountains and rolling hills.
Outdoor
Recreation & Wildlife Viewing
Numerous trails invite you for hiking, biking, riding, cross-country
skiing, and snowmobiling. There are hundreds of miles of logging
roads leading far into the wilderness. An abundance of wildlife
is found in this area, giving you many opportunities to sight
bear, moose, deer and other wild animals. Don't forget to bring
your camera!
Lakeshore
Log Cabins
Our lakeshore log cabins provide spectacular views of trout-filled
Canim Lake, as well as local wildlife such as bald eagles, ducks,
geese and otters. accommodations for up to 6 people. Shower/Toilet
with warm and cold water. Livingroom with kitchen, fireplace and
electric heat. In front of the cabin is a fire-pit and a picnic-table.
Studio
Apartment
We also have an 800 square foot studio apartment which sleeps
up to 6 people. It is ideal for families and groups. It has 2
bathrooms, a partial kitchen with small fridge, sink and coffee
maker.
Dining
Meals
are served family style in our lodge. After dinner we often gather
by the fireplace where some of the best bear stories are told.
Weather permitting, the storytelling moves outdoors by the campfire
in front of the lodge. After a hard day of fishing, hiking, the
outdoor hot tub provides welcome relief.
RV
Campsites & Tenting Sites
We can accommodate motor homes, 5th wheels, trucks and campers,
campervans, tent trailers or tents. We have an ideal spot for
everybody! All campsites have picnic table and fire pit, full
hook ups, free firewood, licensed lodge, outdoor hot tub and clean
washrooms.
Fishing
Adventures
Canim Lake Resort boasts some of the finest stillwater rainbow
trout flyfishing in BC. Numerous trout filled lakes surround the
resort allowing easy access to remote and spectacular settings.
Canim Lake also provides the angler with the opportunity of fishing
for giant lake trout. Lake Trout take big plugs and spoons on
the troll and can weigh up to thirty pounds. Gear fisherman also
target the local rainbow trout by trolling gang trolls and wedding
bands.
Horseback
Riding
Get to know the area on horseback! Friendly guides and spectacular
scenery are sure to make your horseback riding adventure something
to remember. Horseback rides can be arranged for almost any age
and skill level. So pack your cowboy hats, saddle your horse and
join us for a ride.
Hiking
& Nature Walks
There are plenty of hiking trails in our area for hikes and nature
walks.
Swimming
Canim Lake is ideal for swimming. The water temperature in our
bay is often already quite comfortable in June. Our big raft has
plenty of room for sunbathing.
Biking
For the average biker there are many backcountry roads and trails
to explore. We can drop you off and you can bike back to the resort
or you can explore and we will pick you up at a designated time.
Guided
Big Game Hunting
In hunting season, our lodge and cabins are situated in a vast
area that offers prime BC wilderness hunting for black bear, mule
deer, moose, cougar, wolf and coyote. Experience

Winter
Recreation
We offer winter get away packages with all the essentials included.
Stay in one of our warm and cozy log cabins, each one with its
own fireplace! We will provide you with delicious meals in our
fully licensed "Moose Lodge," where we will serve you our scrumptious
breakfasts, lunches and dinners. At the lodge, we also have an
outdoor hot-tub, and a huge entertainment room. Besides that we
have plenty of other activities to keep you busy: we have snowshoes
and snowmobiles, and we can arrange a dogsled tour or even take
you on a winter driving tour to see the icy frozen Mahood and
Canim Lake waterfalls. Just beautiful at this time of year!
