Welcome to Valkyr Adventures … relax in our backcountry lodge where you’ll enjoy ski touring and alpine hiking.

The Valkyr Range is located in the Southern Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, and is the site of one of the newest backcountry lodges in B.C. We offer guided and catered ski touring packages, and alpine hiking packages.

The lodge was built in an alpine meadow high above the Arrow Lakes in the West Kootenay Region of British Columbia. Constructed of squared logs the 7-bedroom lodge provides a cozy and warm home base after a day of awesome powder skiing. Located at an elevation of 7,280 feet, the lodge is spacious and comfortable, and each bedroom is outfitted with a double bed/twin bunk combination. All bedding, including down duvets are provided so all you have to bring is your equipment and clothing. The sauna house is a short distance from the lodge. It has a shower with hot and cold running water, change room and a privy as well. After a hot sauna and a shower or a roll in the snow you'll be ready to tuck into the hearty, sumptuous supper that has been prepared by our professional kitchen staff. Once feasted and nestled in bed you can dream of the next days' adventure in the Valkyrs.

Treed skiing abounds in the Naumulten Basin. There are abundant rolling gladed runs near the cabin for excellent ski touring, snowboarding and snowshoeing. Vast treed bowls provide great terrain for intermediate skiers and boarders to hone their turns on. For the more advanced skier or boarder there are great chutes and fun micro-sites to play on, as well as extensive ridge tours. There is abundant varied terrain to suit all ability levels. Once on top of Naumulten Mountain point your skis south for an awesome ridge tour along the Valkyr Range. Mt. McBride is a powder enthusiast's playground. The guides will select the best runs of the day for you and let you take it to the limit. At the close of the day the sun setting over the Monashee Mountains in the west will light your way home. A hot sauna and a delicious meal await you back at the lodge.

When the snows gone, we invite you to join us for a truly enjoyable mountain experience. We offer guided and catered day trips based out of the cabin. Whether you want to hike to the top of a mountain or seek a peaceful alpine get-away where you can stroll around the basin or relax by the lake, we are confident that we can tailor your backcountry experience to suit your expectations. Our hiking packages include transportation to the trailhead from the staging area in Burton, lodge accommodation, fabulous hearty meals and trail snacks, guided and catered day hikes tailored to your expectations and physical ability, and the option of remote camping.
