BC Time Zones & Telephone Area Codes

Time Zones

Most of British Columbia is on Pacific Standard Time, except for a small portion of the north east corner and the south east corner. These two areas are on Mountain Standard Time.

Like most regions of North America, B.C. uses Daylight Saving Time during part of the year. This means that we change our clocks every fall and spring. In the fall, the clocks go back an hour and in the spring clocks go ahead an hour. Fall back and spring ahead, that's really all one needs to remember.

Telephone Area Codes

B.C. has two telephone area codes. They are 604 and 250. Most of 604 number pertains to the Vancouver, Coast and Mountains region (Vancouver/Southwestern BC). All of the other tourism regions are the 250 number.
